A sleeper in this sought-after domaine's portfolio, the Côte de Nuits-Villages is a profound, soil-driven wine sourced from seven parcels of very old vines (planted in 1952) in the commune of Brochon, a village known for its Gevrey-Chambertin-like terroir. This is a significant step up in structure and complexity from the Bourgogne, offering a much fuller and richer impression. The 2023 vintage has a fresh nose of black fruits, leading to a full-bodied palate with a great core of blackberry and dark cherry. The tannins are round and supple, yet provide a firm structure, balanced by tangy acidity and a long, precise, and mineral-driven finish that promises excellent aging potential.

  • Reviews & Scores

    • 91/100 - Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "On the palate the wine is full-bodied, soil-driven and has a great core of black fruit, with ripe tannins, tangy acids and a long, precise and nascently complex, beautifully balanced finish. Fine juice in the making here!"

    • 90-91/100 - William Kelley, The Wine Advocate: "The 2023 Côte de Nuits-Villages is especially good (as of next year, it will become Fixin, but the vineyard won't change)."

    • 89/100 - Lewin on Wine: "(Barrel Sample) This really shows Denis's objective of achieving sucrosité without sugar. Fresh nose shows black fruits. Round and juicy, it shows black fruits on the palate, with a much fuller impression than the Bourgogne. Tannins are rounder and more supple."
