2020 JEAN-JACQUES CONFURON Côte de Nuits-Villages "La Montagne" blanc
Domaine Jean-Jacques Confuron, based in Premeaux-Prissey, is one of the benchmark organic estates of the Côte de Nuits. Managed with supreme dedication by Sophie Confuron and Alain Meunier, the domaine achieved full organic certification decades ago, prioritizing horse-plowed soils, low yields, and uncompromised site expression. While the Côte de Nuits is famed for red Pinot Noir, rare white wines from high-elevation parcels like "La Montagne" are true gems for insiders. Situated on a steep limestone ridge overlooking Comblanchien, the vineyard’s thin, chalky topsoil provides exceptional natural drainage and cool morning breezes. The solar 2020 vintage provided pristine fruit maturity, balanced effortlessly by the site’s innate acidity. Vinified with gentle oak handling and minimal intervention, this cuvée offers a striking, energetic white Burgundy with remarkable tension and mineral breadth.
