Domaine A. & P. de Villaine, co-founded by Aubert de Villaine (co-owner and legendary former director of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti), brings the same meticulous, organic approach to the Côte Chalonnaise that defines the finest estates of the Côte d'Or. While the domaine is rooted in Bouzeron, their Premier Cru holdings in neighboring Rully showcase white Burgundy of serious pedigree. The 2021 vintage in Burgundy was marked by historically low yields and cool growing conditions, producing wines defined by high energy, precision, and chiseled acidity. Sourced from organic Premier Cru parcels in Rully, this Chardonnay underwent a patient vinification in neutral oak foudres and barrels to preserve site transparency. It is a striking Premier Cru that seamlessly combines the estate’s signature restraint with the intense mineral tension characteristic of the 2021 vintage.
