Domaine A. & P. de Villaine, co-founded by Aubert de Villaine (co-owner and legendary former director of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti), brings the same uncompromising commitment to organic viticulture and finesse to the Côte Chalonnaise as the grand estates of the Côte d'Or. While its sibling "La Digoine" shows dark-fruited depth, "La Fortune" is celebrated for its bright, high-toned energy and floral delicacy. Sourced from a south-facing hillside plot with thin, limestone-dominated soils, this vineyard naturally limits yields and produces Pinot Noir of exceptional purity. The 2022 vintage yielded beautifully ripe fruit while retaining a crisp, electric backbone. Vinified gently with a portion of whole clusters and aged in neutral oak foudres, "La Fortune" is a vibrant, elegant red Burgundy that punches well above its regional appellation.
