2022 A. & P. DE VILLAINE Rully "Les Saint-Jacques" blanc

Domaine A. & P. de Villaine, co-founded by Aubert de Villaine (co-owner and legendary former director of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti), brings the same meticulous, organic approach to Rully that defines the most prestigious estates of the Côte d'Or. "Les Saint-Jacques" is one of the most famous lieu-dit vineyards in Rully, located on a gentle slope with clay-limestone soils that naturally impart both generosity and fine structure. The 2022 vintage offered ideal conditions, yielding Chardonnay with excellent ripeness, vibrant fruit, and an underlying mineral core. Vinified and aged in a combination of oak foudres and neutral barrels to preserve purity, this cuvée punched well above its classification, delivering a refined and expressive white Burgundy that rivals many village-level wines from the Côte de Beaune.
