2022 BERTRAND-DELESPIERRE Coteaux Champenois Rouge
Champagne Bertrand-Delespierre is an esteemed grower-producer located in Chamery, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. Managed by siblings Clémence and Adrien Bertrand, the estate champions organic and sustainable practices, emphasizing whole-bunch fermentations, native yeasts, and gentle oak aging to craft wines of exceptional transparency and artisanal character. While celebrated for their chiseled, long-aged champagnes, their still Coteaux Champenois Rouge is a rare insider gem. Sourced from south-facing Premier Cru parcels in Chamery with sand-over-clay and limestone soils, this still Pinot Noir captures the cool-climate tension and bright red-fruit purity unique to the Montagne de Reims. Vinified with partial whole clusters and aged in neutral French oak barrels, this cuvée offers a perfumed, fine-boned, and gastronomic red with remarkable mineral energy.
