Champagne Bertrand-Delespierre, based in Chamery in the Montagne de Reims, is an artisanal grower-producer (RM) led by siblings Clémence and Adrien Bertrand. Committed to meticulous, low-intervention craftsmanship, they craft parcel-expressive champagnes with long cellar aging and minimal intervention. Cuvée "Ortie Brûlante - Urtica Urens" takes its name from the small stinging nettle whose natural presence indicates the rich, humic character of the sandy-loam soils in Villedommage. Sourced entirely from old vines (planted in 1968 and 1971) on a north/north-west facing Premier Cru slope, this rare 100% Meunier single-parcel millésime is bottled under natural cork (tirage liège) and aged without malolactic fermentation. With an extremely limited production of only 1,993 bottles and a precise Extra Brut dosage of 1 g/L, it represents one of the most distinctive, chiseled, and terroir-transparent expressions of pure Pinot Meunier in Champagne.
