2024 AURÉLIEN VERDET Côte de Nuits-Villages "La Prétière"
Maison Aurélien Verdet, based in Arcenant, carries forward a rich legacy of organic viticulture inherited from Aurélien's father, Alain Verdet, who was a true pioneer in organic farming during the 1970s. Aurélien continues this ethos with zero chemical intervention, indigenous fermentations, and meticulous vineyard care across the Côte de Nuits. "La Prétière" is a prized parcel located in Comblanchien, right at the heart of the Côte de Nuits-Villages appellation just south of Nuits-Saint-Georges. The vineyard's clay-limestone soils impart a distinct combination of structural depth and vibrant fruit energy. The 2024 vintage showcases Aurélien’s signature low-intervention winemaking—utilizing whole-cluster inclusion, native yeasts, and minimal sulfur additions—to yield a red Burgundy of remarkable freshness, floral lift, and succulent red fruit character.
